Michael Young

Michael H. Young, California Broker Associate (DRE# 02003601), joined Intero Commercial in 2023 after six years as a residential Realtor. He earned the prestigious CCIM Veteran’s Fellowship in 2022 and promptly completed all four CCIM Core Courses in the short span of five months and is well on his way to earning the coveted CCIM pin.

As a native San Franciscan (Lowell High ‘91), Michael has an intimate knowledge of the Bay Area real estate market and has transacted in all six Bay Area counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda, and Santa Clara. In commercial real estate, Michael covers multi-unit residential, multi-unit industrial flex, agriculture, cannabis related properties, and business sales.

Michael graduated with a double major in Economics and Chinese Studies from UC Berkeley and a Master’s of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. In his earlier career, Mr. Young was a U.S. Diplomat and U.S Army reserve officer. He has negotiated bilateral agreements on behalf of the United States with foreign governments, run U.S. embassy operations overseas, and has experience leading teams in high-stress situations to achieve broader organizational objectives. He takes the same calm, collected approach with his clients, guiding them through the complex and often emotional decision making process so that his clients have the best available information to make decisions with confidence.

Michael is a member of the San Francisco Association of Realtors, Global Business Council, and both the Northern California and Mid-Atlantic CCIM Chapters. He is also Co-Founder and President of Asian American Federal Employees for Non-Discrimination (AAFEN), a Washington, DC based civil rights non-profit dedicated to fighting discrimination against Asian American federal government employees with a focus on nation security issues.

When Michael is not busy serving commercial real estate clients and fighting for Asian American civil rights, he enjoys cooking long, slow dinner meals with close friends, and traveling the global looking for the perfect romantic getaway spot. Michael speaks professional level Mandarin, conversational Vietnamese, and basic Spanish.
